Snowboarding

This snowboarding season we got Jaxon to give it a try. He is such a competitive little sibling that there was really no leaving hom home anymore. He was gonna board with the 'kids'. Mitch took him up all by himself one afternoon while the kids and I were in school/class. Mitch was so grateful that he had that opportunity to experience this all over agian1 They had an awesome time.

We all love spending a day on the slopes, Morgan and Ethan have really gotten to be good snowboarders since moving to Utah. This year Dave came down and did a little boarding with us as well as Matt and Mary. So much fun!

Mitch and Miriam

Wow, how time flies. 16 - This number and my daughters age are the two numbers that put it into perspective for me. I feel young, not my age, but then reality sinks in and I just can't believe how the time goes by so fast.
Mitch’s unwavering love and strength continues for his family. He is doing well with work and has a renewed enthusiasm for his career with a new manger in place. One of his highlights for the year was being able to spend week hunting with Morgan and Ethan. Although they didn't shoot anything they did come away with memories and an experience the three of them will treasure forever.
This past year I have enjoyed being a fulltime, stay-at-home mom without needing to divide my time between family and school. What was an unwelcome break in my schooling, actually turned out to be a blessing in disguise. I was so thankful to have that time and be able to spend it with my mother.

Morgan

Today Morgan left for school giving herself an extra 30 minutes to hand in a couple assinments before school started. She's a very good, hard working student. She got her homework finished last night. Everything was going well until seventh period, when she discovered she was missing one of her assingments that was due as soon as the bell rang. Realizing this, she let the teacher know she had to run to her locker to get the one she'd forgotten. She took the hall pass and went to her locker and realized the assignment was actually at home Luckily we only live 5 minutes from the high school (at a full out run) , and that it's track season so she actually had her running shoes to change into. The beads of sweat and heavy breathing gave her away when she got back into class. Had her teacher not been laughing so much at what Morgan had done she may have docked her some p0ints but I think the effort and humor in the situation saved her!

Ethan

Ethan just turned 13 and is ‘enjoying’ all that comes along with being a teenager – like braces. He constantly challenges me to think outside the box. His intelligence and energy amazes us. I am deeply thankful for his quickness to forgive and express love. As well as his sense of humor that has kept me laughing all these years. He has become a very good baseball player and loves the sport immensely. It is so fun watching him as a catcher on his team, what a perfect position for him.

Jaxon

It's amazing, just when you think your life couldn't get better and that nothing is missing, how the most unexpected surprise becomes something you couldn't imagine life without.
Jaxon, my constant companion. Our days start with a wave good-bye to dad as he heads to work, sending  the 'kids' off to school, a bowl of 'frwoot whoops' or 'marshmallow yadies' and Curious George.

he has a thing for tattoos
We have ' toy battles' in his room, go for walks, run errands, help out in the kids' schools and his absolute favorite,  playing outside, regardless of the weather.

He is loving, shy, funny, determined and competitive. He has us all wrapped around his chubby lil finger.

Nothingness and everything

I've seen some wonderful blogs and have loved them and loved what they're about. I've been putting off my own blog because I thought I was too busy. I am still just as busy, but now I have a stronger urge to 'blog'. Having lost both my parents, most recently my mom, I feel like I need an outlet, a way to get out all those things I used to share with them. They were people whom I could tell everything to, share my hopes, dreams, problems and stories about my children with, or even just talk about nothingness. Well here's hoping that this may help fill some of that hole that has been left in me. They were also the ones that spread the stories or news (somethings I wish hadn't!;)) and kept me posted on extended family and friends. So this blog is also an attempt to inform and be informed. My children are amazing and I want family and friends to get to know them and the unique and wonderful people that they are.
