Bacon Seeds!

 

We've been thinking about raising our own pork for a couple years, we have a great beef supplier but struggle finding pork from year to year. Well we bit the bullet and found a great breeder in Prineville and went out and bought a couple piglets that were leftovers from his auction for the 4h kids'. The boar was a little runty and the gilt had gotten her left ear shut in a pen, so neither were desired by any of the 4hers that were going to show pigs. So we got a good deal on them.

He attends both a kids class d/t his age and also attends an adult class d/t his size.

He prefers the adult class but it makes me nervous because sometimes some of the guys forget his age!

He's learned so much and really likes going.

Maggie is the princess, she loves to sleep in as long as she can in Jaxon's room, which works for both of them. She's a bit timid and cautious but loves to be snuggled and petted - all the time. She has no interest in fetching or playing in water but she is oh so smart and sees everything. And she is so FAST! Therefore my runs are boring to her, she gets easily distracted w butterflies and grasshoppers and it just gets too hot for her, she'll sit in the shade of a tree and refuse to leave.

Huck is laid back and known as the 'fun police'. He's learned how to roll over and shake. He's working on fetching and finally learned to like water and swim. He likes to be petted but also likes to have his space on his pillow. He's a great running partner w a great pace and doesn't mind just plugging along w me.
