Wish granted

We had been wishing for snow and on the evening of the 24th it started to snow. We got the "snow day" phone call early on the 25th so we were able to just stay home and enjoy it.

Jaxon relaxing in the chair sipping his hot cocoa and watching the snow come down - clearly not upset about having school canceled this morning
Snowshoeing out the back door and down the steps of the back deck!

There was no keeping up with the snow!
We plowed and shoveled for hours this morning,
but made very little head way.
It just kept coming - very pretty and pretty unbelievable
just how much snow we were getting.

Waist deep to a 5 year old

Making our way out across the backyard
to check on the chickens out in the coop.

Unreal how much snow fell in one day and with more to come

The chicken coop nestled under all the snow,
it would be a week or more before the girls would venture out of the coop to the chicken run.
They do not like the white stuff!

It really was beautiful and so quiet. Thankfully I wasn't scheduled at work for a couple more days; I got to just enjoy it as well, and not worry about traveling the roads until they got cleaned a bit.

the snow was so deep that the sage brush was even covered up.
2.5 - 3 feet of snow fell in 36 to 48 hours.
It was as much or more snow than we had in 2015
and it all came in such a short time.

He couldn't resist playing in the snow on his dirt bike.

Sure makes for some beautiful views!

Cline Falls

We needed a little fresh air and an easier hike. Cline Falls is just that.
A beautiful sunny day but a bit chilly!

Hoodoo 2

We made it back for a second go at Hoodoo.
Jaxon looking a little bit more comfortable.

Lots of cheeks

This is right before Mitch completely did his calf muscle in.

Jaxon an I made a couple runs together while Mitch waited in the lodge for us.
Thankfully Three Creeks is on tap up there.
I crashed and burned pretty hard when I looked back up the hill to make sure Jaxon was following, caught a back edge and hit hard. Thankfully I wear a helmet! Turns out a day later and for several days after I was in pain from apparently getting whiplash w that fall!

Learning how to ink

Jaxon learning how to tattoo his rabbits ears.
He has great rabbits for this, probably the second largest ear breed!
This is our 4h leaders husband. What a great family they are along w they're two boys. It's always so hard to move to a new area but in all the places we go we have met and made some incredible friends, people that we couldn't imagine not having in our lives.

A lil blurry but there's Linus
