We had been wishing for snow and on the evening of the 24th it started to snow. We got the "snow day" phone call early on the 25th so we were able to just stay home and enjoy it.
Jaxon relaxing in the chair sipping his hot cocoa and watching the snow come down - clearly not upset about having school canceled this morning
Snowshoeing out the back door and down the steps of the back deck!
There was no keeping up with the snow!
We plowed and shoveled for hours this morning,
but made very little head way.
It just kept coming - very pretty and pretty unbelievable
just how much snow we were getting.
Waist deep to a 5 year old
Making our way out across the backyard
to check on the chickens out in the coop.
Unreal how much snow fell in one day and with more to come
The chicken coop nestled under all the snow,
it would be a week or more before the girls would venture out of the coop to the chicken run.
They do not like the white stuff!
It really was beautiful and so quiet. Thankfully I wasn't scheduled at work for a couple more days; I got to just enjoy it as well, and not worry about traveling the roads until they got cleaned a bit.
the snow was so deep that the sage brush was even covered up.
2.5 - 3 feet of snow fell in 36 to 48 hours.
It was as much or more snow than we had in 2015
and it all came in such a short time.
He couldn't resist playing in the snow on his dirt bike.
Sure makes for some beautiful views!
