My brothers and I had been planning a trip back to the Oregon Coast since early spring - a much needed trip to hang out as a family and take a break from the emotional toll of the past few months of all that comes with the death of our two parents.
I just reread that and it sounded like I did a lot.... Rob deserves most of the credit with the affairs of the estate and planning a vacation. He undertook what I could not have done and I am so appreciative of him and the way he stepped up and took care of so much and kept us informed and included!
I have over 1000 pix of this trip it was so fun and such a beautiful week. So selecting just a few will prove difficult! But here goes....

We made it
all the way to Twin
Falls from West Jordan before we
stopped. We watched some crazy base jumpers, had breakfast and ran into to some friends while at IHOP. Such a small world!
We made it! After what seemed like forever - which was actually about 14 hrs- we were at our beach house in Otter Rock Oregon. The drive there was quite an adventure with all 5 of us packed in the car, but laughs and memorable moments were made!

We just loved our beautiful, secluded hike down to the ocean,
complete with a water fall and bridges over the stream,
it was like a little jungle! |
 |
| So excited to have made it to the beach... they are just a blur |

The next morning Ethan and I headed down to the ocean for the beautiful morning views
Our first morning
Later that day when it "warmed" up the big boys headed out into the Pacific and played in the waves.
It took Morgan and I a day or so but we finally made it out into the waves which happen to be a numbing 50ish degrees! SO cold freezing but it was definitely worth it to experience the strength of the ocean!
Dave
Danny and Jaxon
Jumping waves with Jaxon...just wait I do get in deeper!
Dan and Dave were definitely the two crazy one that were out in that water the most, pretty sure there may have been some damage done being in the cold water for so long!
Morgan and Miriam braving the cold and enjoying the awesomeness of the waves

We found a little 'cove' just down the way from us and pending on the tides we could either just walk right in on the sand or shimmy the rocks when the water was high. Either way we always found fun sea creatures to entertain us.

| This was some of the entertainment... |

We called these 'sphinter erchins' when these were poked they would
close up and spurt water. The 'kids' were so ammused by this! |

One of the highlights for me was a fishing and crabbing trip. Jill and I went along as the photographers and the rest of the gang was fishing and pulling crab pots. I was a little worried about getting sea sick especially since there were bets out on who would get sick first, Thankfully none of us did get sea sick. We didn't catch a lot of fish as the pictures will show but we had a lot of fun and the crab was definately plentiful.

Dave may not have had the biggest fish
but he definaltey had the fishing form down -
he looked like he knew what he was doing,
unlike the rest of us city kids! |
