Todd Lake
I didn't get to Todd Lake last summer and really made a point to get there this year, one of my favorite little Cascade Lakes.
I took my paddle board and had a great afternoon
Morgan, Jaxon and Dawson also came along. Morgan had her paddle board, Dawson has been using the little green kayak and Jaxon got tired of all the nature (bugs) and zipped himself up in the 'anti-nature' sunshade.
This is all boy ready for anything right here - kayak, goggles on, bug catching container on his back along w a squirt gun and his kayak headed out for adventures.

A quick evening ride
W
We decided to run up to Henderson Flatts for a quick ride after Mitch got off work. We had been having little afternoon hit and miss rainstorms for about a week, but we figured if anything we'd just get caught in one of the little sprinkles, which would help knock the dust down and maybe make a little mud to play in. About half way through out ride it started raining and then downpour. We were soaked clear through by the time we made it back to the truck. We changed and decided to wait it out, it couldn't keep going....
Well we hunkered down under a tree in rain gear, had a drink or two - Jax just kept riding around in all the rain and mud, all while w.a.i.t.i.n.g for it to ease up. Pretty soon what was dry and dusty became creeks and streams of water coming down the mountain. It was crazy to see.
Finally it did ease up, and we found some dryish wood and made a fire and cooked our hamburgers for dinner. Pretty fun and memorable little outing.

Hikes
Hiking Whychus https://www.oregonhikers.org/field_guide/Whychus_Creek-Deschutes_River_Confluence
Every once in a while our schedules all work out and we get a day off together. Mo and I asked E to come along on a hike with us. Of course he said yes but I think he kinda wondered about his decision later. We usually only have so much time until Mo needs to be back to pick up D from school. Her and I typically start out after she drops him off, we get our hike or trail run in and then find a place for lunch and a drink. Well, E had some things he needed to get done first so we didn't hit the trail as early as we'd have like to. So by the time we got to the turn around point at the confluence of the Whychus River w the Deschutes River, we realized we were running out of time and may not have time for our lunch and drink - honestly this may be our true motivation/reward/treat (whatever you want to call it)for getting out and exercising!
Taking in the views before heading out
