Festival of Color

I don't fully understand this and it didn't seem to harmful, unless you get it in your eyes, so Morgan, Ethan, their cousin Jesse and Ethan's friend Taylor decieded to check it out. It was quite the adventure for them, and for me to let them go on their own, into Salt Lake City via the Trax train and a UTA bus as well. I told them to be careful as they headed out the door and to this Jesse repied "Don't worry Aunt Miriam, I have a knife."  As well intentioned as he was, seriously, didn't make me feel any less worried!

Pony Baseball 2012

We love watching Ethan as the catcher. He has really gotten good especially now that he's almost as tall as us and can pick runners off at second with his throws (He's got quite the arm)!

Even though these pictures are through the fence I just love them

Stole third!

He has such a great time behind the plate... this is him trying to catch a high throw into home

Picking a runner off third
His asst. coach messing around, couldn't outrun Ethan!

Switching it up with a bunt

WE LOVE BASEBALL!

T- Ball / Coach Pitch 2012

What a difference a year makes. Jaxon is really into baseball this year, sometimes I have to remind him he can't go get a ball that was hit to the third base positon when you're playing first!
I caught him trying to steal home the other day... apparently he's been watching Ethan play.... in a couple years, lil buddy.

He was really struggling with his hitting the first couple games/practices, granted he's only 5, he'd be watching the coach the whole time, instead of watching the ball coming in to him. Then a couple Sundays ago Mitch and Ethan threw horrible pitch after horrible pitch to Jaxon, obviously not meaning to(so I thought), but its not so easy to pitch softly, overhand, on your knees and from only 12 feet away. He'd hit one occasionally but atleast they were having fun. At his next game his coach was pitching to the kids before the game, warming them up; when Jaxon's turn came up he stepped up and ripped one out past his coach. I was so shocked, as was the coach, and Jaxon as well! He just kept knocking them out there, it was so fun and he was having such a great time, so excited! Quite the strategy that Mitch and Ethan had!!

This was a hit, not sure what he's looking at though!

This is Jaxon's friend Fisher, from preschool. They literally almost ran into each other before they realized they knew each other. They had so much fun playing baseball together. So Cute!

Jaxon's 5th Birthday - finally

He's five and one of the most lovable and funny little guys I know

We were originally going to have Jaxon's birthday in Bear Lake while we were there on his actual birthday, April 9,  but he was pretty insistant on having an army cake and cousins over, things that would be much more convenient to do at home. So all Jaxons knew was that his birthday was after Easter, so the Saturday after Easter we finally had his birthday party

Jaxon, Ethan, Logan, Nathan, Jesse and Levi

The much desired army cake - thanks Mystie, Mary and Morgan for your help.

Easter 2012 in Bear Lake

We tried something new this year...Easter in Bear Lake. It was a beautiful week with temps in the mid 60's, the summer crowds were nonexistant, signs of spring were all around and no mosquitoes! I absolutley love going for runs while we are there, it's so peaceful and quiet. Jaxon and Mitch would never come back home if they truely had the choice. Ethan found that he really loves 4-wheeling in the mountains, especially when he can find mud holes. Morgan loves the county lifestyle, there's a cowgirl inside her just waiting to come out!
Jaxon and Ethan (being a good sport)hunting for eggs

This is the way Morgan spent her time during the Easter Egg hunt... with a migraine. Poor girl. The kids had just come back from the lake when it hit her. I think it's the lack of stress that caused it!

 Having fun together
Jaxon got a 'card holder' from the Easter Bunny, one of the most clever inventions I've seen! He loved it, now we can play without having his cards all laid out for everyone to see! Unless he's holding them backwards!

Yum Yum, fabulous campout cooking. This was pork ribs that had been marinated and cooked to perfection!

Ethan is proving to be quite the dead eye, even when he was shooting from the hip!

 The spotter

 Another shooter in training

Absolutely LOVES fishing
