Halloween Trunk or Treat

 Crazy Chicken Farmer
Crooked River Ranch holds a Trunk or Treat,
not just for our community but surrounding areas are welcome as well.
They really do a great job and we really appreciate all the volunteers that help pull this off.
Lots of candy and the chapel and community center are full of carnival games and crafts.
My favorite 'trunk' was the horse trailer that had been decorated up as a spook alley w their pony dressed as a sheep and their horse dressed as a hula girl w coconut shell bikini, so fun!

My favorite costume couple was these two! Morgan loves holidays!
She said 'finally I have a man that will dress up w me!'

Middle School State Cross County Meet in Monmouth Oregon

Jaxon was unable to run in the district meets on October 23 in Bend because he had pulled his groin the Thursday before in practice. He decided to sit that meet out and look forward to going to the State meet just outside of Salem on October 28.

Getting a little warm up jog in before his race

His leg felt good and he ran well. It was a pretty windy day but thankfully the rain  stopped and held off until the races were finished.
In his race there were just shy of 300 boys. Middle school 6th, 7th, and 8th grade.
The home stretch! He did well just over 13 min. placed him at 45th out of 280ish. So proud of him!

His running buddy finished 5th in her race.
It was just the 2 of them that went to State from their little school

Haden's birthday and Pumpkin carving

Kaleb and Morgan had a birthday party for Haden at their new house.
We got to see their place and meet Kaleb's mom and her boyfriend.
An impromptu gift for Haden from us... a toilet plunger;
we had to run to the hardware store to get this gift during the middle of the party!

Hot wheels and road tape!

After the party and bbq we decided to head to our place and carve up some pumpkins.
It was a beautiful evening and a great way to finish off the day!

Last East Fort for the season

We decided to squeeze one last camping and riding trip in.
Jaxon loves going to East Fort just on the West side of Bend off hwy 20.
Actually as long as he can ride he'd go anywhere!
I love the way he looks on his little bike, I think we made it, one last season w his bike.
Next year a bigger bike, bigger falls, bigger speeds...… augh!

I prefer the 'safety' of 4 wheels!

It was a sunny but cool weekend, but not too cold for an ice cream cone

One of the best parts of the camping weekend was that the fire ban had been lifted!
It just hadn't been camping without a campfire.

So the little pairs of lights in the background are deer. They came in to camp, real close, looking for food. We got the flashlight out and got a good look, it was a couple pairs of does w fawns and one younger deer. Both does were very skinny, poor mammas, not a great way to head into the winter. One pair, doe, in particular was very brave/ very hungry, begging for food.

Juju and Marc come for a visit

Our good friends from West Jordan Utah came all the way to Central Oregon to spend a weekend with us. Unfortunately it was a rainy cold weekend but it was still great having them around and catching up. We wandered downtown Bend with them one afternoon for the Fall Festival and of course shared some of our favorite places to eat.
They stayed at Eagle Crest Resort in Redmond so we had to try out the 18 miniature golf course. So much fun but not very good yet lots of laughs!
Jaxon helping Judy get her ball out of the water hazard

We all go very good at getting out of the hazards! As you can see there are two other peoples golf balls in the sand as well!

Jaxon opted for the between the legs and out the back method

Marc and Juju!

Kylee is always up for goofing w us

And of course we too them to Smith Rock but spared them Misery Ridge hike..... this time!

It was a great weekend, so much fun being w our friends again.

Sometimes this Uncle and Nephew can get along and be so cute together!
