This was a tough back to school year for J., towards the end of 6th grade he found out that his beloved lil Community school would no longer go through 8th grade and he'd be going into town to the bigger middle school 2 years sooner than we had anticipated. J is no fan of change, he likes knowing what's coming and he's a planner, list maker and calendar kinda guy.
He dreaded this change all summer long and begged and pleaded to be home-schooled. But we felt this change was important for him to work through. So off to Elton Gregory Middle School for 7th and 8th grade. He became 1 of 100's of 7th graders instead 1 of 25.
Less than 2 months into the school year he was chosen for the monthly character award, kindness. Proud parent moment! Not only had he adapted to a huge change but he'd done it well and showed kindness to fellow students and teachers along the way!
Frogs and snails and puppy dog tails
I must confess, I do dread back to school time as well. He is such a fun adventure buddy, good person to be around and treats me so nice, it's hard to let that go!
Helping me out in the garden one morning, we discovered a baby Jack Rabbit had gotten in through the tiny fence squares and had grown to a size where he couldn't squeeze back out.
Jaxon to the rescue. He cornered that lil guy and caught him in a bucket and released it out in the field.
